Account Information

When you create a talkKrishna account, we collect your name, email address, and phone number (optional). If you sign up via Google OAuth, we receive your name, email, and profile picture from Google.

Chat & Conversation Data

We store the messages you send and the AI-generated responses from Krishna to provide chat history, improve response quality, and maintain conversation context. Your conversations are private and visible only to you.

Payment Information

Payments are processed securely by Razorpay. We do not store your credit/debit card numbers, UPI IDs, or net banking credentials. We only store transaction IDs, plan type, amount, and payment status for record-keeping.

Usage Data

We automatically collect device type, browser, IP address, pages visited, and interaction patterns to improve our service. This data is anonymized and aggregated wherever possible.

We use your information to:

• Provide and maintain the talkKrishna service, including AI-powered spiritual guidance
• Process payments and manage your subscription
• Store and display your chat history
• Send transactional emails (account verification, password reset, payment receipts)
• Improve the quality and relevance of Krishna's responses
• Analyze usage patterns to enhance the user experience
• Prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access
• Comply with legal obligations

We take the security of your data seriously:

• All data is encrypted in transit using TLS/SSL
• Database connections use SSL encryption on DigitalOcean managed infrastructure
• Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and never stored in plain text
• JWT tokens are used for authentication with short expiry periods
• Payment processing is handled by Razorpay, a PCI-DSS compliant payment gateway
• Access to production systems is restricted and audited

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only with:

• Google Gemini API — Your chat messages are sent to Google's AI service to generate Krishna's responses. Google's privacy policy applies to their processing.
• Razorpay — Payment data is shared with Razorpay for transaction processing. Razorpay's privacy policy governs their handling of payment information.
• DigitalOcean — Our infrastructure provider hosts our databases and application servers. Data is stored in their Bangalore (BLR1) data center.
• Email service providers — For sending transactional emails only.
• Law enforcement — If required by law, court order, or governmental regulation.

talkKrishna uses:

• Authentication cookies — HttpOnly cookies storing your session token. Essential for the service to function.
• Local storage — To store UI preferences such as theme and sidebar state.
• Analytics cookies — Anonymous usage tracking to improve the service (can be disabled).

We do not use third-party advertising cookies or tracking pixels.

You have the right to:

• Access — Request a copy of all personal data we hold about you
• Rectification — Update or correct your personal information via your profile settings
• Deletion — Delete your account and all associated data, including chat history
• Data Portability — Request your data in a machine-readable format
• Withdraw Consent — Opt out of non-essential data processing at any time
• Object — Object to processing of your data for specific purposes

• Account data is retained as long as your account is active
• Chat history is retained until you delete it or delete your account
• Payment records are retained for 7 years as required by Indian tax law
• After account deletion, personal data is purged within 30 days, except where legal retention is required
• Anonymized and aggregated analytics data may be retained indefinitely

• Transactional emails (verification, password reset, payment receipts) — Cannot be opted out as they are essential to the service
• Daily Krishna quotes and spiritual messages — Can be opted out via profile settings or email unsubscribe link
• Product updates and announcements — Can be opted out via profile settings
• We will never send spam or share your email with third-party marketers
